Camp Time Trial - July 11th - Results

Congrats to Breelyssa Leeper (9th) and Noah Jenkins (12th) on winning the Camp Time Trial 2.50 mile race today! Breelyssa showed she will be a force to be reckoned with on the course this fall for Herriman, with a great second half of the race! She finished in 15:49! Senior Noah Jenkins cruised to a fast 12:29, looking controlled and fast the whole way!

In the Mile races, Malachai Nielson (9th) and Sadie Henderson (9th), came away with the victories! Malachai won the race overall in a new PR of 5:35! Sadie used a strong kick to finish in 6:49! Look for these frosh to be future superstars!

Color Wars - August 5th - Results

The amazing Color Wars Week culminated with a 1 mile race for 7-10th graders today! Tayshaun Ogomo led the Blue team with a 1st place finish! Twins Micah Tang (Red) and Jonah Tang (White), as well as McKay Steadman (White) all closed hard to finish under 5:20 to go 2-3-4!

The White team girls of Feisty Favs and Bree Leeper dominated up front to lead the White team to a dominating victory! A big surprise was a great race out of Frosh Rebekah Lin (W) to give the White team a lot of top girl finishers!

Great job to everyone on an amazing week of fun and competition!

Premier Invitational - Aug 13 - Results

An amazing start to the 2022 racing season for Herriman XC! The boys varsity put 5 guys in the top 9 to dominate the field! Will Horne and Noah Jenkins went 1-2, with Ryland Garner, Luke Briggs, and Will Steadman finishing top 9 overall!

Varsity Girls finished 2nd in 6A and 5th overall with Breelyssa Leeper, Alayna Wardle, and Maggie Featherstone all finishing in the top 25! Amazing job ladies!

JV Boys were PERFECT, with a score of 15 points AND they ran fast enough to take 2nd overall for the entire meet! All athletes combined and Herriman Varsity Boys were the #1 team, but our JV boys were #2 overall, beating all other varsity teams! Hyrum Wood won big, with Jack Beckstrom in 2nd, Carson Monsivais in 3rd, Micah Tang in 4th, and Jonah Tang in 5th!

JV girls had a solid 3rd place finish, led by Senior Captain Kali Woolf in 7th place and Avery Sorter in 17th! Soph Taylor Underhill passed a lot of girls at the end to finish 18th! Soph Claire Hoenes also was a medalist in 28th place!

Pre-Region - Aug 24 - Results

Pre-Region consists of the 6 teams from Region 3 (Herriman, Riverton, Copper Hills, Mt. Ridge, West Jordan, and Bingham).

Herriman Boys and Girls both place 2nd place at Pre-Regions! Ryland Garner and Will Steadman lead the team with 3rd and 4th place finishes! Boys put 8 in the top 15 to show some serious depth!

The Girls team was lead by 4th and 5th place finishes by Maggie Featherstone and Breelyssa Leeper! Lindsey Gerhart and Maci Woolf finished in the top 15! Avery Sorter had a big race too!

UIAAA Invitational - Aug 27 - Results

The UIAAA Invitational offers some amazing early season competition, with many of the top teams in the state present.

Varsity Boys were a little short handed, but still ran 4th with a strong performance up front from Will Horne and Noah Jenkins finishing 4th and 6th. Ryland Garner and Hyrum Wood ran strong to help the boys team finish close to the top teams. Boys JV dominate with 5 in the top 7 led by Max Hofheins and Jack Beckstrom going 1-2! The Tang twins Micah and Jonah went 3-4 to lead the boys Fr/So to a 2nd place finish out of 29 teams!

Breelyssa Leeper continued to show that she is moving closer to the top girls in the state with a solid 19:22 performance! Rachel Crosby ran a big PR to finish as our 5th scorer in 20:46! Kenzie Bowen led the JV girls with a 12th place finish, and Claire Hoenes led the Fr/So Girls with a 22:44 performance.

A solid start, but we will look for bigger performances at Timpanogos next week.

Timpanogos Invitational - Sept 3 - Results

What an awesome day and a great display of teamwork and dedication displayed by the Herriman XC Team! The boys senior team started off the day with a win from Senior Sebastian Nielson in 17:12, and the boys senior boys won (Orem had juniors on their team)! Carson Monsivais took 3rd and Kadan Allen followed in 5th! The junior boys also won with a dominating front pack of Max Hofheins in 1st, Nathan Wardle in 2nd, and Jack Beckstrom in 4th! The top senior girl was Athena Kelly in 52nd, and the top junior girls were Avery Sortor and Kensie Bowen in 8th and 9th!

In the Varsity Girls Elite race, the girls showed major improvement on the season finishing in 8th in a loaded field. Senior Maggie Featherstone led the way in 27th place, while frosh Bree Leeper was right behind in 28th! The return of Junior Alayna Wardle helped a lot with her finishing in 65th and Junior Rachel Crosby continues to move up the roster with her impressive performance in 69th!

The Varsity Elite Boys race was loaded with the top teams in Utah, and the Herriman Boys emerged victorious, scoring only 105 points! Senior William Horne showed he is one of the 6A state individual favorites with a huge performance in 4th, while Senior Noah Jenkins battled through illness to still place 9th for his teammates! Ryland Garner was the 1st #3 man in the race in 19th, Luke Briggs was the first #4 guy in 33rd, and Hyrum Wood was the top #5 guy in 50th! This race shows Herriman boys are as good as anyone in Utah! Amazing job boys!

In the heat of the later races, Claire Hoenes ran great finishing in 16th in the soph girls, Jonah and Micah Tang went 5th and 10th to lead the soph boys to 3rd place, and Rebekah Lin and Adam Wardle led the frosh teams. Great job by all athletes!

Utah Pre-State - Sept 14 - Results

We had a lot of fun and some super fast races at the Utah Pre-State! Our top finishers for the boys Frosh/Soph Division were Mckay Steadman and Parker Monsivais in 17:32! Adam Wardle and Bryce Runnells were our top frosh in 17:42 and 17:48! For the Frosh/Soph Girls Saylor Warner was our top girl in 22:35, followed by soph Kaylee Arsenault in 23:55!

For the Jr/Sr races, The Secret Weapon Daniel Romney ran a PR in 17:15 to lead the boys! Johnny Cannon was next in 17:43 and Zander Browne ran a great 17:48! Senior Athena Kelly led the girls team with an amazing 22:34, with Kira Willis up next in 23:22! Amazing job to all athletes at Pre-State!

Woodbridge Invitational (CA) - Sept 16 - Results

It is safe to say that our Woodbridge Trip was a huge success! Not only did everyone have a blast, but they all ran really well! Jonah and Micah Tang started the meet off with a bang in 15:29 and 15:32 in the Varsity A Race! The Varsity A Girls also ran amazing, led by Junior Kensie Bowen, who ran an amazing 18:58! Avery Sortor came in next in 19:19, Claire Hoenes was 19:45, Saylor Warner was 20:40, and Rebekah Lin ran 21:15!

In the Girls Rated Race, Maggie Featherstone and Breelyssa Leeper crushed it, running 17:11 and 17:16! That makes Maggie the fastest all conditions 3 mile performer in school history! The great races didn't stop there...Lindsey Gerhart ran 18:19, Alayna Wardle 18:23, Rachel Crosby 18:24, Kali Woolf 18:26, and Maci Woolf 18:40! The girls finished 4th in the Rated Race and 20th overall for the whole meet!

The Rated Boys Team also did not disappoint, finishing a close second to Southlake Carroll of TX! Jack Beckstrom ran 14:52, Tayshaun Ogomo ran 14:54, Carson Monsivais ran 15:05, Nathan Wardle ran 15:14, Sebastian Nielson 15:29, Jeff Gerhart 15:30, and Kadan Allen in 15:37! This team finished 14th overall out of the entire meet all on their own time wise! Pretty amazing!

The Sweepstakes Boys went in ranked #7 Nationally, and they didn't disappoint, WINNING THE ENTIRE MEET! Noah Jenkins led the way with a 14:01 8th place finish, just getting out leaned by Aaron Sahlman of Newbury Park! Right behind was William Horne running 14:12 and taking 14th place! Ryland Garner also had an amazing race, finishing 27th in 14:29! Senior Luke Briggs crushed it over the last mile to run 14:38 and place 44th! After that we needed a miracle to win...and one came in the name of Max Hofheins! He ran 78th in 14:52 and sealed the win for the boys! Will Steadman finished 93rd in 14:59 and Hyrum Wood ran 15:14 to finish 114th!

Herriman Boys just took down many of the top teams in the Nation and proved they are one of the best in the country! Couldn't be more proud of them on this trip! Thank you to all of our supporters for sending us!

Roy HS Royal Run - Sept 24 - Results

The Royal Run Invite was a huge success for HXC! The boys varsity started it off with a big win! Jack Beckstrom finished 4th and led the boys team to 5 in the top 9 and a 6.5 second spread from 1-5! The varsity girls team ran one of its best races of the season, winning in strong fashion over a very good Weber team 44-59! Maggie Featherstone, Bree Leeper, and Alayna Wardle finished 4, 5, 6 to lead the girls to the win!

JV boys dominated, going 1-2-3-4-5-7-8-9 with Sebastian Nielson winning the race and Zander Browne racing big to finish 9th! The boys scored a perfect 15 points in the win! The rookie boys were also amazing, putting 4 in the top 5 with Adam Wardle winning and Noah Rodriguez passing 10+ athletes in the last mile to secure the team win by finishing 13th!

Girls JV was led to a solid 2nd place finish by Claire Hoenes who finished 2nd as an individual! Big races by Athena Kelly, Kira Willis, Ciara Dunn, and Emily Brown secured a top finish for our team! The girls rookie team finished 3rd led by Saylor Warner with an amazing 5th place finish! Frosh Sadie Henderson stepped up to help them team with her 13th place finish!

Region III Championships - Oct 5 - Results

The boys JV had a perfect score of 15 with the 1-5 finish, led by Sr. Sebastian Nielson, Sr. Carson Monsivais, and Sr. Jeff Gerhart. The varsity boys held off a very good Riverton team 25-32! Sr. Noah Jenkins won in 15:04, followed in 2nd by William Horne in 15:25. William Steadman stepped up to finish in 6th and helped secure the win!

Claire Hoenes ran amazing in 3rd place to lead the girls team to 3rd in JV. The varsity girls had some health issues that slowed us a bit, but the girls fought hard and finished in 3rd on good performances by Maggie Featherstone in 4th and Alayna Wardle in 7th!

 Divisionals - Oct 11 - Results

Max Hofheins leads the boys team to State with a great 14th place at Divisionals! The boys team placed 4th in their heat to qualify to State!

Maggie Featherstone finished 7th in her heat to lead the girls team back to the State Championships! Junior Kensie Bowen ran a great race to help the girls team finish 3rd in their heat!

Utah 6A State Meet - Oct 25 - Results

Although it wasn't the day we hoped for, there was some bright spots at the Utah State Meet. Maggie Featherstone ran to projection with her 17th place finish! Alayna Wardle and Bree Leeper had solid runs finishing 29th and 38th! The girls finished 8th overall in the state for 6A.

The boys were lead by Sr. Noah Jenkins finishing 2nd overall! Sr. Will Horne also ran great finishing in 5th! Soph Tayshaun Ogomo had a solid race finishing in 35th place. The boys team finished 4th overall in the state for 6A

JV State - Oct 29 - Results

Even with a late bus, the girls stepped up and ran well! Junior Avery Sortor and Soph Claire Hoenes ran 12th and 16th to lead the girls to a 4th place team finish! Great job ladies!

The boys team knew it would be a battle with the very deep and talented Lone Peak team! Herriman went 1st with Junior Max Hofheins, Lone peak went 2-3-4, but we came back with 5-6-7-8 to round out the scoring! Hyrum Wood, Carson Monsivais., Nathan Wardle, and Sebastian Neilson all ran great to secure the win 27-31! Amazing job boys!

Pre-Footlocker Race - Nov 5 - Results

A great bounce back race for the boys, running right with AF and Riverton. Great races by Noah Jenkins, Will Horne, Luke Briggs up front!

For the girls only a few made the trip but Maggie Featherstone finished in 3rd with a great performance! Both Kensie Bowen and Kali Woolf finish in the top 40!

NXR - Nov 19 - Results

Our Boys Team Qualifies to NXN!!! The boys put it together to get 2nd and qualify to the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, OR! Noah Jenkins finished 3rd and Will Horne 14th to lead the boys to Portland! The Open Race boys won their race and finished 2nd overall with all open races combined! Will Steadman led the way finishing 4th and Sebastian Neilson finishing 7th!

The Girls Team ran great and finished 19th overall for the region! Maggie Featherstone was 52 and Bree Leeper was 85th! Audrey Hales finished 29th in the Open Race, with Maci Woolf close behind in 43rd!

NXN - Dec 3 - Results

What can be said about a group of young men who came together when it mattered the most for their team! The boys finish on the podium at NXN in 3rd place! Out of over 18,000+ high school teams in the country, only 2 finished higher this season than Herriman of Utah!!!

Noah Jenkins was All-American in 16th, with William Horne also All-American in 21st! What an amazing individual accomplishment for these young men! One of the best performances of the meet was Jack Beckstrom, who finished 67th in the nation to help secure a podium spot for our team! He beat many of the top runners in the country! Luke Briggs had a great race and finished 84th! Ryland Garner (106th), Max Hofheins (107), and Hyrum Wood (148) rounded out the scoring of this amazing team!
