My name is Coach James. I have been a part of the pole vault community for 15 years. I am a 3rd generation vaulter, you might say that it's in my blood. I compete every now and then when I can. I have helped coach Herriman High pole vault since my father was the coach for 7 years now. When he retired, I became the pole vault coach for this school. The main reason I love this event is because it is a worldwide community. We encourage our competition and they do the same for us. I became a coach because I want others to love the sport as much as I do. Outside of coaching, my main job is an electrician. I build wood furniture in hopes of starting my own company doing that.
